Some hard playing makes the game 2-1, and I had 3 turns left to score again in the half. Stupid riot ended the half.

I kick, he easily makes the game 2-2. I receive, but he kicks it exceptionally deep and I can't get the ball ahead far before his wardancer strips the ball from me, it bounces around and his other elf picks up to pass ahead for another score. 3-2 him.

Take the ball, down three players to BH so I'm undermanned for the first time all game (I ko'd many of his guys first half, but by now they were all back up). Race around the far side, his leaping wardancer tries to once again strip the ball from me but instead gets rr double-skulls. I have a choice--stall at the goalline for an easy tie game, or score with one turn left and hope for another blitz I can exploit with my last turn to paydirt.

Alas, it wasn't to be. A bad kick let him give the ball to his catcher on the LOS, directly facing my treeman. I'd thought he was crazy at the time, but wait...

A leaping blitz by his wardancer knocked my lineman into his catcher who got knocked forward a step to adjacent to my treeman...

Hit the same lineman from the side, knocked into his catcher, knocked a step further into my backfield...

His catcher took it from there, dodging away from my speechless elves along the sidelines, racing the 9 steps and 2 gfi's to paydirt.

I lost, 4-3, in a game without an opposition 1-turner, where I could've ensured the tie by stalling a single turn. It was heartbreaking, but man oh man, was it eye-opening to watch happen!
