It was a competitive game on paper and such handy war dancers - an AG5 war dancer complimenting On Tilt, the MA10 super star war dancer - would always be a handful.
310k in inducements, only 3 gutter runners and no bench plus the thin wood elf armour meant we invited Skitter. He proved pivotal.
The rats opened on defense with On Tilt on the LOS ready to one turn. Blitz! Head in hands, when The Murker heard of a knock out he just waved the apothecary on. I mean, obviously it was the super star war dancer. "As you asked, gave the line elf the smelling salts." Ouch.
That line elf had been moved to get a gutter runner under the ball. Unfortunately not enough cover was there and the war dancers mopped up but were sat deep and surrounded by fast rats. I looked to the wizard and pointed at the AG5 war dancer with the ball. Zzzzzzzzzzzzap *crackle* *pop* and a seriously injured war dancer was carted off the pitch. Ouch!
Still, wood elves with an MA10 war dancer are a handful. The ball was not secured and On Tilt ran off with it getting clear of our tackle and strip ball. Skitter was nearby, and *stab* *knock out* the wood elf drive was effectively over. Ouch!!
1-0 but 9 elves including On Tilt on defense. Soon there was a sniff of a chance - and in steamed the super star war dancer. Leap failed! Rerolled. Block is -2D and push/skull and he's knocked out. Soon just a tree and a line elf survive the relentless blocks - game over, and all that's left is an unsuccessful attempt to clear the pitch. Ouch!!!
Tough game for the wood elves. However VO are SMACK champions. \o/”
