“Malmir was surprised I accepted the game, but with a wizard, a star, a babe and plenty of ball fetchers it was always going to be quite a tight game.

The Colourful Characters drive got off to a bad start - a rookie hobgoblin set the offense back considerably. The elves swarmed, it looked inevitable. The ball goes loose and... scatters into an elf that has already moved! Damn! The super bulls get it back and Mr Red drives downfield, proving impossible to stop as elves are shoved over the side. I'm left to lament my decision to leave the strip ball star covering the clawpomber.

2nd half, the Devils drive got off to a bad start too! A reroll wasted on a silly pass is followed by a failed go for it - 2 turns in and both rerolls gone! The witch breaks clear but the TD line is greased, sneaky hobgoblin work! The bulls abandon their team mates to get to the ball and players are shoved over the side. The witch twice recovers the ball following failed pick ups by bulls - and twice more slips approaching the greasy TD line. The ball nestles by the side, and Mr Red once more fails to grasp the greased ball and is surfed too. Finally it is picked up for the equalizer.

A good draw for me as this game could have been painful, but the greasy ball and the mediocre blocking by the Colourful Characters played into our hands. If only we could have kept hold of the ball in the 1st half!”
