The Norse brought in a Star werewolf, but other than that it was a heads up bash fest, 43 blocks each. The Necro's regen rolls were exactly what they needed to avoid perms, but not enough to keep them from losing the bash war.
The Norse received, and sent 2 zombies off BH'd Turn 1 (1 regen'd), and another 2 players Turn 2 (MNG regen'd, the other KO'd), including 2 Guards (1 with St 4!). But the Warriors were not done, and MNG'd the Norse St star St 4 Blitzer Turn 4, out along with the Norse DP. Even down 7 players to 9, their pair of elf-agility Werewolves were a constant threat, and succeeded in popping the ball loose Turn 6. Despite that, and their own coaching mistakes, the 'Sons managed to "kill" the better of the 2 Flesh Golems (another successful regen), and bumble their way to a Turn 8 score.
Then Turn 8 the crowd did what the Norse had been unable to do, and a Thrown Rock took out the +St +Ag Superstar Wolf BH'd.
The 'Warriors started the 2nd half down that WW and a Guard zombie (still sleeping), and the Norse somehow had only lost their one Blitzer and DP, 10 players to 11. Now it was the Necro's turn for the bash, KO'ing 3 norse lino's in their first 2 turns and only losing 1 zombie KO'd themselves. The 8 Norse were not able to do any more than pose a threat to the ballcarrier against the 9 Necros, but that was enough to encourage a Turn 5 score, 1-1.
Receiving with 4 turns to win the game, it was the same 11:10, and the kickoff by chance went to the extreme side of the LoS away from the Norse setup, doing them no favors Turn 1. Turn 2 they caged midfield on the LoS, but a turn behind schedule, and with time running out they pushed up to barely within scoring range Turn 7. Another Norse positioning errour and a successful 1d block opened a path for a 1d Frenzy blitz on the ballcarrier, but both failed to pop the ball, and the Norse had just enough manpower free to clear the marker without dodging, hand the ball off - using their last RR, a tense moment for both sides - and go full MA to score.
A near tie, and the first Lindisfarne win (and first Alethkar loss) of the season after finishing 2nd pre-season, hopefully a sign that things are back on track for the Midnight Sons. ”
