To be fair, the Roughriders rather deserved it, as they were cresting on a 33-game undefeated streak, with many games of ridiculous good luck under our belts.
Last game, we lost our best saurus (and last remaining Legend) and this game we again lost our best saurus. Add that to 2 Blitz! events, a snaked dodge with Wolfgang (Dodge/BreakTackle) which would have saved a TD, block after block without a Pow in sight, and the fact that we started undermanned (Saurus and Kroxigor having been taken out in the previous match), and it was a cataclysm of doom.
The icing on the cake was the last drive–– a short kick which bounced into 2 TZ on the Chaos Dwarf LOS, which just happened to coincide with a Riot which brought our remaining turns down from 3 to a crippling 2, and denied us any real chance to eek out a tie.
Despite the silliness of the game, and the Roughriders' continued and hilarious incompetence, opposing coach madvig never found a word to say. Shame, as this game was aching for a good chat...”
