What a match!
We were both close to win at different times, luck was on both sides but was ultimately on mine.
It's raining. Jeguan receives first. His first pick-up works, so I have no use to try a TTM (like in my quarter-final match). I gather his guys in the middle of the pitch, but my both trees take root pretty early, with a too large space to bother him. My rerolls are burnt fast. Turn 6 he finds a breach and runs far, but I can reach his ball-carrier thanks to my ag4 guard and the other ag4. Blitz 2d but I don't use my last reroll, I want to keep it for a TTM last turn.
Turn 7: here is the key turn. Jeguan needs to block 1d my block+guard fling if he wants to go farther. Pow. Then 2d against my ag4 av5, KO'ed. I prefer to apo him, I absolutely need him for the TTM in turn 8. But Jeguan smartly fouls my ag4 block+guard+KOR: BH. He scores at turn 8. (0-1)
Rain stops just for my 8th turn to give me more chances to score a TTM. I burn my rr for a gfi, but then my tree throws my fling too short. (0-1)
2nd half is pretty hard. I try to find a way to score without needing a TTM, but Jeguan defends very well. But reduced to 5 players, and with a blitz failed into my cage, I only need to roll gfi's to score. (1-1)
Jeguan plays his 16th turn. He tries a TTM, which works perfectly: his fling lands (5+) in range of the end-line. He blitz 1d (pushback) which is safer than rolling 3+3+ dodges. He only needs one gfi to score...... (1) re-roll (1). Ta-dah!
I win the toss for the overtime. I slowly build my attack. I try to gather all his players on one side. When his trees finally fall into my trap (turn 2) I decide to move at the center, and then I run with my ball-carrier 5ma+sprint+sure feet. I get two pows while blitzing 2d the most troublesome fling on my way, so that makes it easier, with my dt against his blocker. He can blitz 1d my ball-carrier, wasting his reroll on a gfi before rolling the block: pushback. I use sidestep to be closer of the end-line. Next turn, I only have to roll a dodge 2+ to score...... (6).
Grats to my opponent which made this match absolutely great, he played very well and was close to win it. Like I said, luck was on both sides. I felt frustrated in turn 7 after loosing my ag4+KOR while I could have stopped his first TD, but I was very happy when he failed his gfi turn 16 :). A very nice final.”
