“Good opponent, strong player, but the dice were just not there for the Zons. Of the five injuries, Mighty Blow was used only once. Meanwhile we could not get through on the norse armour. Nor could we pick up the ball, or pass, or dodge. Got a few good hits in, but with a player out on the first hit (ST-1 to the player who would earn the MVP), we played the whole game at a deficit. Blodge was not as valuable as it often is, and just dodging to move cost us a player as well. Essentially played the game surrounded by Guard and afraid to try to dodge away, the five players remaining in the second half (eventually just one on the pitch) tried to foul their way off but the ref kept letting them play (we had a bribe from Get the Ref but would not have used it).

Ended the game by running the clock, not picking up the last two players while they were being fouled by the norse standing around them (by a stroke of luck we had KOd some norse and it was 5-2 players by the last three turns, with one Runner down field with the ball and the remaining four surrounding two downed zons). Fouling reduced the attacks to one per turn without Mighty Blow, so it turned out to be the best bet (resulted in one KO).

All in all the game was a bit of a chore from about turn 4, but we pressed on and bought two new Blitzers for the rebuild.”
