Ah, hard hitting elves - surely not that hard hitting, right? Wrong! 5 players out before the dust has settled on T3 and the half is done. With our mascot hurt, Beggar suffering a fractured skull, the team is downbeat.
Still, there is a wizard and 11 players for the 2nd half. Soon the elves are down to 8, then 7, and things look much better again! Then elves be elves and make a mockery of tackle zones to strip the ball from Landlady's grasp. It's OK, she can just pick it up again, right? Wrong! The snaked pick up is followed by a punt.
Just as it looks lost, finally a dark elf slips as the witch falls. Landlady has the ball and all that is required is a pass, a catch, and a hand off. The catch is dropped and the team comes up short in a competitive 2nd half - the Soulrippers getting a measure of revenge for their coach after our previous XFL encounter.”
