#5 Tra Darkson – Fractured Arm (MNG)
Neither coach had their head in the game to start - first the Texas coaches thought it would be a great idea to spend 150k of their 250k in Inducements on a wizard, who sat on the sidelines smoking the remainder of whatever recreational substances the coaches had started on (probably haga, from the look of their coaching).

But Texas won the toss and chose to kick, and Turn 1 the OD coaching staff, apparently being downwind of the off-duty wizard, mispositioned, leaving a 3d blitz on the St 2 ballcarrier. Texas powed, scooped, stalled and scored to end the half, altho' not before a few more glaring mental errours, and having to recover the ball a second time Turn 7 (with no RR!) after surfing the wrong player and then towing a Shadower several squares near the goal line the turn before.

(Turn 2, the OD rookie Passer was killed, but a quick apo brought him back for the 2nd half. The OD squad survived the rest of the match without notable injury, despite a pair of late 1st-half surfs.

On the other side of the ball, despite a total of 30 MB blocks thrown, OD didn't get any results until Turn 13 - see below.)

Receiving Turn 9, Texas looked in good shape, but a BLITZ! result put a real crimp in any plans they had of an easy win. OD actually had their hands on the ball, but a RR'd Witch frenzied it loose and OB, and it sailed back deep near the endzone, and Texas was able to screen and recover, and then repeatedly squirm out of repeated pressure from first one side, then the other, altho' not making any progress past the LoS line.

OD's Turn 5 and 6 their blocking dice caught fire, and 2 Texas players went out each turn, leaving Texas looking at 2 turns of 7 players v. 11, to hang on to a 1 score lead, and still back at their own 8. But they had some good blocks and some good dodges, and screened up just past midfield, and the OD dice went cold. Turn 16, instead of scoring (w/ a double-GFI, w/ RR remaining), they took another risk and skilled up a Witch with a fluff pass, and survived the no-RR blitz blitz, which could only find a Push.

The wizard took his pay and went home happy and unused, and Texas had held on to their 1st win of the season and with their new roster (altho' it would not have been the first game was stolen Turn 16, nor the second!).
