“Tale of 2 halves, with the 2nd half leaning heavily in favor of the Ratz.
1st half, Hyper Zzpeed scored a OTS to take the early lead. Yea, common wisdom is to not score so early, but IMO, getting the 1st one in for skaven is important. After that, the Undead slowly marched down the pitch, and I was unable to stop them delaying to score till turn 8. Took a lot of beating in that drive, but the important pieces were still around for the 2nd half.
2nd half, I kicked deep and the fans threw a rock at the tackle Wight. Then the undead put up a small screen as I rushed into his backfield. Luckily for me, he was unable to pick up the ball for two turns despite sure hands. I got the ball, but his Tackler knocked me down...and the ball bounced into Hyper's hands. Yea, he was in a TZ of a tackler, but I had a rr, so I dodged away and into the EZ for the 2-1 lead (didn't have to use the RR at least). Next kickoff was a pitch invasion that Stunned 3 Undead and no ratz. Again, I kicked deep and rushed the backfield. Seeing history repeating itself, the Undead passed the ball to the other side of the pitch, but was unable to catch it (or it scattered--either way it was on the ground, but next to his Str4 Ghoul). Warp Zzpeed, however, was exactly 9 squares away, so he rushes and leaps over to the ball, picks it up and 4+ pass later, Zzing has the ball and scores for the 3-1 lead. Final kickoff, Blitz! and I rush into the backfield again. Grid'Iron secure the ball, but Warp Zzpeed gets a 2db on the BC, but fails to knock him down. By this time, it's turn 7 for the Undead and the game is decided, but he still has a chance at a TD. They get the ball to a ghoul on the sideline, and the Str4 Ghoul deep. Warp Zzpeed fails the leap to try and blitz the BC, KO'ing himself. then Zzing is KO'd by MBTackle Wight and a pass is attempted, but fails. The scatter puts is so that I have no chance of scoring my turn 8.
