Expats chose to kick, put on good lateral pressure, and "invited" the quick score on Turn 3.
Receiving Turn 3, a Riot shortened the time the Expats had to score, and to stall, to 5 Turns. The Scavengers used a patient, disciplined, double-deep defense, but the Expats kept pushing it back. But Coach K kept me distracted with casual conversation, like we usually do in our games, but this time he kept timing me out! Fair is fair I suppose, I let myself fall into the trap (especially after the first one), but still...
Fortunately, have learned to keep the ball protected, so no big harm until I let it happen again to end Turn 7, when instead of an easy score, the ball was left at the 11 - and a wizard made sure it was on the ground. Still, pulled it off to tie at the half - phew!
2nd half, receiving, faced a full DElf roster, and again patient defense - at first. Then Knightsweats just quit - just... quit... trying. Even chose Skulls over a push - on purpose.
I don't understand, nor could I talk him into trying. Not even when he got the Riot Turn 16 - didn't even move someone into scoring range.
Not a good game, all in all.”
