“Well, we learned the hard way not to challenge a higher TR dwarf team. In a 2-turn span, we lost one of our Dragon Warriors to a sideline push, almost lost a Lion Warrior who tripped over the 50 yard line and broke his own neck, did lose a blodging lineelf (rest easy, Fionna, you'll wake up from your coma one day, and we'll need you back on the pitch, memory of skills intact or not), and lost my Phoenix Warrior for next game. Fortunately, we're elves, so pretty much anybody can serve as QB in a pinch, which duties were spread around quite liberally the rest of the game. We did manage to pull off a draw, fending off a late-minute surge by the dwarves, and very nearly pulling off the upset win, had my Lion Warrior not failed a 2+ dodge to get away from a tackler and run for the score at the end of the first half.
Little bit of a rebuilding phase to come, as well as revamping our game-challenging procedures. Thank goodness this game was with my high elves, and not my woodies or darkies...I'd not have a team left!
But to anybody still reading this, ibar's a terrific coach. He knew how to use his players to his advantage, and he refrained (other than the one sideline push, which was very strategically done) from fouling or other unneeded violence. I thank him, and wish his team well in the future.”
