Tough game, indeed. That was one of my first games with dorfs. I knew the only annoying skill my opponent had in mass was Guard, and it took me the whole first half to learn how to deal with: I separated his players, which allowed me to out block him during the second half and overtime.
Fouling worked surprisingly well, and the ref ignored the 7 fouls I did (the 3 bribes were used for the bloody bomber).
At the end of the day, it all came down to 2 AG4 dodges and a pickup in a TZ. I don't think he could have score with any other players player, should the action have failed, and that would have been a looong way for me to go to his TD line. I thought we'd go to the coin toss, but that's Bloodbowl... You never know what to expect.

both of my Box Dwarven teams have a DR, so I was thinking I had one on this team..but I don't (yet..might buy one after the game :). Still, I bought bribe so, that gave him almost 1 million to play with. Game went into OT, so the inducements helped a lot I think
1st half, I managed to get to the ball about turn 4, and from there it was a mad scramble in on his side of the pitch. Meant we went to Halftime 0-0. Despite me having more MBlow on the team, I was losing players.
2nd half, He still has the wizard, Morg, Boomer and a bribe (Boomer took 2 to stay in the game at half), so instead of a tight cage, I tried to spread out and pull a skaven/elf like score. It did not work at all, except that we again played most of the half on his side of the pitch. Boomer was better this half, and I continued to slowly get worn down. He was having issues as well, as a Blocker died (apoth failed) in the 1st half, and a Blitzer failed a GFI and died in the 2nd. No score by the end of regulation
OT, I only have 10 players to his 11, as he is able to keep Boomer around for the OT (ref was more agreeable), but I won the toss. Managed to get a proper cage at midfield, then when he split the team north and south I went south, so it was 8 of my guys vs about 5 of his. I also managed to stun Morg at the LOS on my 2nd turn. He recovered well, and the ball carrier went down. The crowd, however, threw it close by. I got the ball with Junior, but failed the GFI on my 3rd turn (not for the tD, but to get further from his blockers). 4th turn, I do what I can, but see that if I let Morg anywhere near the ball, I'm in trouble, so Junior dodges to the ball (3+..thanks AG 4), picks up the ball (3+) and dodges into the EZ (2+) for the score and win.
very hard fought and tough game. kam, you shouldn't get rid of the team--play them occasionally. Dwarves are all about positioning--which I'm not as good at as some people are :)
Tim gets the MVP and Mighty Blow. To buy a DR or not, that is the question of the day.
