Wizard almost wins the game for the Slann, but dwarves pile it on in the 2nd half to pull out the 3-2 win.
1st half, I set up a decent cage on my 1st turn, not having looked at the inducements my opponent had set up. Of course he had a wizard! It was an effective fireball..1 KO (the ball carrier), 1 stun and 3 knock downs--every player in the radius was knocked down at the least. Now, having this early advantage, my opponent chose to stall, and with Terminator Tim in range (agility 5, strip ball), I was able to knock the ball loose. This encouraged him to score on turn 3. With 6 turns to score, I was barely able to manage it.
2nd half opened with both teams down to 9 players, and I was not able to stop the Slann from scoring the go-ahead TD on turn 2. his again gave me plenty of time to score the tying TD. This time, however, the dwarves decided that they had had enough, and started to really hurt the Charcutiers. All but one of the Casualties happened on this drive, including 3 deaths! Scoring on turn 8, meant that the game went to OT to decide.
OT: Karak wins the toss, but probably would not have mattered much as there were only 4 Slann opposing 11 dwarves. Even with an opening blitz, they did not have much chance of stopping the Winning TD--which I did score as quickly as possible .
3 fouls this game--2 because we got a bribe after the 1st TD (after the DR was thrown out of the game, and the last to remove the lone threat to the winning TD.
