“FUMBBL B Minor HW VI Final

This was both coaches first trip to the finals of a Minor (I had been to a few SMACK finals but lost them), so history was going to be made no matter what. I'm very happy about the win, and I think both coaches played the game their teams were suited for. Winning the toss I elected to receive and tried to pressure the rodents into scoring. They were actually having trouble getting through my lines, though they were working Adze Stonebreaker and Pile-driver over. I couldn't get near the ball early, but finally the rats felt the pressure and made their move. It didn't really work, and they had a smattering of bad dice at a few crucial moments. I was able to knock the ball loose and Shovel Earthdig recovered. One chance to steal the ball and Fezglitch let his coach down big time. After that, Shovel scored easily, though a bit early. The rats made another attempt to score but didn't have enough players to pull it off. Second half I dwindled the numbers down even more and just rolled the cage forward. Then I decided to do something to make Dwarves even more reviled - I farmed SPPs. It worked, as Adze got 2 passes along with a TD to skill up. But really, it was either that or try and clear the pitch (which I came close leaving only 2 rats left when I scored). The rats set up a good 1 turn TD try and I was left with a choice on a -2d blitz - take the POW or take the Push. I decided to throw them a bone and took the push. Everything worked after that until it came time to dodge through my screen at the endzone. The gutter runner inexplicably chose to dodge through a Longbeard's TZ instead of Slayer's and failed the last dodge.
