For a Wonder, we both have the most fans AND get to start receiving the ball. Its a deep kick, and the sneaky Faraohs manage to switch their defence just before the kick. No matter. We proceed to quickly demolish their line, topped off by the KO-result that Protector scores on one Tomb Guard, while Booster blitzes and seriously injures Ziyad, one of their three tacklers. The coach failed his necromancy spell as well, so Ziyad won't be coming back soon. The, in the next turns, Claws KO's another Tomb Guardian and Ammon, their emerging star Blitz-Ra, Idler badly hurts their veteran Blitz-Ra tackler Horus and Booster scores his second casualty for the day by seriously injuring veteran Thro-Ra Sefu II. This, time, though the Coach is up to the task of regenerating his players, so both Horus and Sefu II will be back later. For now, though, Scavengers have eliminated 6 Faraoh players in the first three turns, two Tomb Guardians and two of the Three tacklers. IT's a nightmare for the Faraohs, and we can spend the rest of the half leasurely demolishing the remaining players, before rookie skink Marsh Mobster puts the first TD of the day on the Board at the end of the half. At that point, Idler had killed rookie Thro-Ra Ammenophis II, and another Coach regen failure made it permanent. Nothing happened in the last jalf turn, except that Tarik head-butted Claws and got hurt, but regen worked.
At second half everything looks rosy. Ammon and Khafra II decides to stay in the KO Box, and with Ziyad SI and Ammenophis II dead, the two Faraoh reserves only bring their Squad up to nine players, while we are fully crewed. WE are also one TD up, but they are receiving. This could still end a Draw, so we need to stay on our toes (eh... claws?). They start well, with a Quick Snap and KO'ing Orange Peeler, but then they decide to gamble on a quick score and send Horus alone towards the goalline with the ball. He is quickly surrounded by skinks and bitzed and KO'd by Purple Protector, while Mobster catches the loose ball. From there, it is the same nightmare repeated for the poor Faraohs. Reduced to 8 vs 11, they take whatever shots they can find, but accomplishes nothing as their number is dwindling. Warror KO's Bastet and Fraternizer badly hurts Tarik. THey get a small break when a triumphant Mobster is about to score his second TD of the match... and stumbles on the goalline and KO's himself. The fans throw the ball back onto the Field, but Claws head-butts Apophis and stuns him, allowing the sauruses have enough time to get back and cover the ball. Then, Breaker can pick up the ball and hand it over to Warrior, who scores the TD. 2-0 to the Scavengers!
There is still time to score another goal, and this time we have Mobster and Peeler unconscious, so we are 9 vs 9 on the field. Faraohs sends forth Ammon, but as Sefu II picks up the ball and passes it to Aswad, he doesn't manage to catch it. Lucily for the Faraohs, Sefu II recovers the ball. Scavengers choose to blitz Ammon, preventing the goal, and as Osaze head-butts Claws, the Scavengers have a chance to score. They manage to get Sefu II stunned, but Mobster fails to pick up the ball, so it ends 2-0 Scavengers with an impressive 6-0 in casualties.
We are guaranteed a Place in the Cup for the third season in a row, and the Athel Loren woodies will decide whether we win the Conference or not. Of course we are satisfied :)
The Faraohs coach worked hard in the match, but simply didn't have enough players on the Field to prevent the Scavenger scores.
