“Rain + bad luck on their only 2 pickup attempts + bad bounces + hot Norse casualty dice led to the Rats being shut out and lucky to limp away with only 1 perm. The Norse were able to score mid-first-half against only 6 rats on the field, and again to end the game against only 4, all scampering for safety after their ballhawk, the only real reaming threat on the field, was fouled to -AV Turn 6.

The Rats chose to kick (trusting that their MA 13 Gutter Runner could equalize anything on Turns 8 & 9). They lost 2 rookies KO'd off the LoS Turn 1 and a Blocker surfed into reserves, but their ballhawk was still able to pop the ball loose Turn 2, but a bad bounce and the rain meant a 5+ pickup, which failed, and the Norse recovered ball and reformed the cage. Turn 4 they BH'd the Rat MB blitzer, and scored unchallenged Turn 5.

The Rats Turn 5 saw the first failed pickup due to rain before their OTS GR could do his thing, and the 'Sons pounced on it, failing their Ag 4 SH pickup in the rain but grabbing it again on a (very!) lucky bounce and RR. A Both-Down block by the Juggs Troll ended any chance to score, but did succeed in MNG'ing the ROgre, taking out the last MB threat the Rats had.

2nd half the Rats again set up for an OTS, but again the rain made the difference in the pickup, and again the 'Sons recovered the loose ball. Down 9 players to 11 and with only 3 Blockers on the field, the rats could not contend with the Norse bash, and did not see the ball again. And, Turn 3, after their +St Blackle GR was RIP'd for the second time, and saved for the 2nd time, using their last Apo, and then another Blocker was BH'd the following turn, that was the end of any ability to hold position, and Coach roadtoad chose discretion over valour.”
