The Midnight applied early pressure (as they always do, those damn high agility, guard heavy bastards) and managed an early defensive TD vs. the hapless frogs.
The ensuing kickoff the Batrachians felt they had to go for it. They hadn't managed to get the ball past the midpoint in five turns so they blew their Wizard to KO the lone defender (Exp. Witch Elf) on the topside, and formed up a mediocre cage. White Rock was poorly positioned to stop the thrust, and Elviss managed (barely) a score to end their last turn of the half 1-1.
WR started the final turn of the first half even players, and proceeded to cas two.
Second half WR is up players but a storm rolls in. No problem for the highly agile Midnight. But then, despite being up players, a failed gfi opens the door!
The Batrachians pounce and Kruger goes deep to receive a pass from Elviss. The Midnight manage a 2d blitz (with rr) on Kruger, but it's only a push. Despite starting at man-disadvantage the Batrachians pull out a score. 2-1 Bouncin'more.
Final drive starts with White Rock up 7-6 players. They move the ball left and then reverse, but a Skull/ Both Down blitz fails to free Harry Vwan, their opposite field M8 potential scorer. When Harry dbl-skulls his block its open season on the ball-carrier.
Kruger gets a 2d Blitz and wrestles down Jenif McDowell. Elviss leaps in to grab the ball and punt it deep. But it's not over yet! White Rock rallies back and collects the ball, while moving players into scoring position.
But the Batrachian's manage a 2d Wrestle blitz and ultimately score a third TD, despite being down multiple players vs. a superior team the entire 2nd half.
An upset for the record books, with Nuffle to thank.
