With plenty of blodge and diving tackle lining up for Gronx's side, I was tempted to get a wizard but opted against it. Gronx turned up a little groggy - claiming to have been in hospital but rumours at the local brothels suggest otherwise! He certainly looked light on coin as well as light in the head! Partial to the dwarves, they say - a bit of a beard fetish!
The 1st half was played in the snow, I won the toss and went on defense. Gronx got a little keen on the foul, leaving a 1D hit on the ball - which was a push, but the -2D frenzy (on a go for it) dropped the block-less ghoul. Ouch! The Palm recovered the ball as my players made use of snow boots and, after a brief tussle, ran off to score.
There were 2 turns left in the half and it was my side taking the casualties, but that was about to change.
First a surf killed the pomber wight, then a failed dodge resulted in a badly hurt wolf. When a foul badly hurt a golem, it was basically game over for Gronx - 3 positionals out, regeneration seemingly off in the snow, and on defense with 9 players vs 11. For Pig Sty Alley, the 1st half could not have worked out much better.
The 2nd half was more or less a formality but, with zombies lining the sin bin for fouls including a cheeky no-dp 1 assist foul resulting in another badly hurt wight towards the end, I decided not to score in order to avoid the chance to lose a positional in some T16 revenge.
The 1st half was competitive, but in the end Pig Sty Alley continue their XFL crown defense with a comfortable win.”
