“Fumbbl Cup XIII: Round One

The first half of this match was pretty text book; turn one Helmut blitzed their sole player with Tackle, burying his chainsaw in the pestigor's chest. In reality he simply hit him with the flat of the chainsaw blade, knocking the pestigor unconscious for the remainder of the match. Either way, it got the job done. Turn three saw the Nurgle's heavily fortified cage around the ball disrupted by a fireball, and with it the ball being wished away into Amazonian hands. Some bad blocks for the Nurgles allowed us to spend the rest of the half bashing and fouling them, to no real avail, stalling for the turn 8 score.

Second half we come out arrogant and without a plan to score, and it showed, as the Nurgle quickly took advantage of us, knocking the ball loose, and never allowing us to get the ball past the LOS. They fought to score the tying touchdown and sent the match into OT.

With the ball kicked deep into our end of the field I decided to try a play I had seen the elven teams succeed with before. I sent two players to flank both sides of the Nurgle team, leaving their team spread thin to cover the ladies now in their backfield. After that, it was all about picking a path to charge forward, hand the ball over, and then toss it to the blitzer making her way into the endzone. Elfball for the win.
