A clear dicing in the casualty department, but an early mistake didn't help the Elf cause.
C.H.U.M.P. chose to kick, but Turn 2 the elfs failed to form a safe cage, and the ball was popped and fell on the 11 yard line. The Elfs double-GFI'd to get a man into the endzone, and the Thrower made a 2+/4+ double-dodge and a 4+ pickup and 3+ handoff for the Pass, only to realize too late that Blizzard conditions prevented a throw that far. A 2+ dodge failed but was saved by RR, then another 3+ dodge was followed by yet another 3+ - and that one failed, ball loose again on the 7. On their Turn 3 the Apes recovered and caged near midfield.
To make things worse, it was during Turn 2 that Elf AV 8 started to fail and the casualty dice caught fire, and in the next 3 Turns 6 EGH players fell - 2 KO'd, 2 BH'd (inc. the Thrower), & 2 rookie Linos RIP'd! With only 5 players on the field, position was nearly impossible to maintain, and C.H.U.M.P. had the luxury to score with a Gorilla at the half, and about to receive up 1-0.
2nd half, down 1-0, the Elfs's KO's woke up, but even 7 Elf defenders had more than they could handle. C.H.U.M.P. was able to pass twice for 2 skills, and the score was quickly 2-0.
Apes kicked again Turn 3, a deep kick with a fluff pass that was dropped (no RR) but beyond any Ape threat. The blitz BH'd another lino, and the 4 forward Elfs found themselves sandwiched. Having already used their RR to recover the ball, EGH succeeded with a multiple dodge to clear a lone receiver, but then tried a meaningless GFI that would not have taken the receiver out of blitz range - which failed, and a self-inflicted BH off the field, leaving only 5 Elfs on the pitch, and the would-be passer within easy blitz range. The Wrestler found a Pow (and a Stun), and after the recovery on the 4 yard line, another Lino was KO'd, and C.H.U.M.P. scored w/ the same Gorilla for a skill, 3-0.
Despite a 'Babe the KO did not return, so facing only 4 Elfs, and despite only 2 Turns left, C.H.U.M.P. pushed up a bit on to the LoS. EGH tried a -2d, quadruple-dodge and then double GFI to get someone downfield - which succeeded(!) but, again, did not put the lone player in any better position than without the GFI's. Apes got a 3d Blitz on him - KO'd - and swarmed toward the ball carrier. The only Elf player in range to score was the prone Journey-man on the LoS, who had to dodge through multiple opponents - and failed, despite a RR try. Apes again popped the ball, recovered and, using one of their remaining 3 RR's on a lone GFI, scored to end the game 4-0.”
