“As rookie coach I knew Woodstylez was in for a tough game. Keeping Sudden Victory scoreless in the first half was essential to win this game. There was alot of maneuvering in the center of the field with attack and counter to try gain positional advantage. Helped by a sensational half from Treejitsu it nearly happened. Only due to the amazing agility of Amaranth it proved futile. Some amazing dodge and GFI rolls from Wispy Willow Tied it up with a OTS.
Treejitsu rooted very early 2nd half which stalled forward progress. Not until T7 a path was finally opened to get within scoring range protected. SV scrambled to cover all players but the numbers were too many and it was an easy 2+ dodge to the TD in T8. I was awed by the tactical prowess in the final turn where SV came within whisker of Tieing.
The game was played in good spirit and as an rookie coach I was humbled to take the win against an experienced coach with some amazing players. Treejitsu skilled up in this game and is now "pro".
We look forward to a rematch as their Team Captain who looks very scary on paper was MNG.
“Sudden Victory won the coin toss and chose to receive. Joseph was in the backfield playing Quarterback waiting for his receivers to get open. Wood Stylez 2.0 covered the Elves well and the Treeman was very mobile. Only Joseph was one of the best Throwers in the Division and he found Amaranth in double coverage. The Blitzer caught the ball despite a Wardancer all over his face. He would dodge away and slip into the endzone to put his team up by one. Unfortunately all SV's work would go for naught as the Wood Elves strike back with a one turn score to tie the game at the break.
WS2.0 received in the second half and they bide their time. Their ballcarrier was caged up and they had the superior guard specialists to back up the blocking game. SV couldn't stop the Woodies from scoring and they score at the end of their turns. The Elves would have a shot at tying the game but a Coaching mistake by the Wishmaster didn't give his team the best chance. Eraldryn would make it into the endzone but fall. SV would drop to a two game losing streak.
