“ Fumbbl Cup XIII - Match 4, round 5


Tonight we meet an orc team of epic proportions. Since AM reached this round a few weeks before Atrapados en el Tiempo did, I was able to keep hoping they would get kicked out by one of the more 'beatable' teams. No such luck, they kept on steamrolling their opposition, and suddenly it was matchday.

We chose to reveive the kickoff. The orcs had a enormous number of guard, so I saw little choice but to try and draw their squad down by using Gerald as bait. This allowed for a quick score, but due to some smart and risky play from the orcs, I had to burn the wizard for the touchdown. The movement 8 agility 4 blitzer proved too much for my team, 1-1 halftime, no serious damage done to either team.

The round started great. Being inspired by the many cheers and boos from our wonderfull crowd, the lads started in overdrive, and got a blitz! The orcs had filled the entire LOS up, and here my poor marking skills kicked in. (Standfirm and diving tackle are my archnemeses, rcdORC had the combo twice on two blodgers, killing my chances at a run and dodge game).

In the end, the orcs managed to stall untill the last turn for their second score, and the whistle blew at 2-1.

Average Mediocrity had a great run. An unexpected one even. I had a blast this game, the team was inspired with an ogre dodging and blitzing the ball from a DT player, but it was not enough.

Good luck rcdORC in the rest of the tournament. It would be more than average to be beaten by the winners of a FC trohpy!
