“Fumbbl Cup XIII - Round 6
This was the toughest match up we could have dreamed of. Nurgles are the best roster against us. I had 10 days to be prepared to fight them, and I used this time well.
At start I said: "Let's have a memorable match!" Hope specs enjoyed this bloody and fast match.
First half we receive. Duke didn't have his usual setup, spread and with his best warriors exposed, maybe he tried to perturb my attack? And fans were so intoxicated that they came on the pitch while the nurgle was kicking. I had some cpombers down, but I had a chance to attack on the side. I built a spread but dense cage, with my guards keeping my cpombers alive. Almost every cpombers, but Sov fell into the claws of a nurgle. The apo tried everything possible to heal him, but he may miss the next match (Duke smartly said at the end of the match that I still had a potion. I thought about it during my preparation).
Duke logically didn't use his wiz, he surely will need it in second half or in overtime. I stall to try to kill most of the nurgles, and finally score without too much damage.
1-0 before the second half
I can start the second half with 11 players on defense. I've prepared an aggressive setup to put pressure on his BC. What I did in the 9th turn, and Duke was forced to use his wiz early in the half to protect his BC, and then he ran on a side. My ag4 cpomber Erg was there to keep the endzone, and Dada came back just in time to blitz his BC. Bounce was good for me thanks to the fans: my blodger cpomber Golgoth was there to pick it up and to try to save the ball. Dada made a final blitz on the BC after a 3+ dodge, the ball bounced next of Golgoth, so it made the recovering harder for Duke. He only needed a 3+3+3+3+ to equalize, but failed the pass. If he scored there he was almost sure to win the match in overtime.
1-0 at the end.
It was a great (and fast: 30 minutes) match. It's a great step for my Chaos in this tournament, surely the toughest one so far. But almost all my guys will be there for the quarter-final.
Thank you Duke for this match. You could have reached the final with your great and very well coached team. First time my Chaos win against your Nurgles, I'm glad it was today :) Good luck in your next tournaments, maybe we'll be faced again!”

Into the 5th round and it was an all Blackbox Claw/MB encounter.
The Chaos received first, so in an attempt to take advantage of regen, 2 rookie Warriors were placed on the LoS, sadly both were injured fairly quickly with regen failing, leaving me down in the Str stakes across the field.
Despite a pitch invasion on kick off, the first half was a fairly smooth march down the pitch for the Chaos after they quickly took the numerical advantage. In fact all 4 Nurgle reserves were quickly used up, leaving the Nurgle to foul more selectively than they had planned. So the first half finished 1-0 Chaos.
Into the second half and a failed pickup put early pressure on the Nurgle, with the wizard being required to recover the position. By now the Chaos were finally starting to lose players. The Nurgle put their faith in a loose cage down the flank, hoping to cover the ball should it scatter, but the Chaos dodged in their star beastman, taking out the ball carrier and the scatter going out of bound, and thrown to an ideal position for one of their few remaining players to recover.
In the end it came down to a final play by the Nurgle, 3+ pickup, 3+ pass, 3+ catch (with reroll) and the game would go to overtime, with Nurgle having superior numbers and rerolls, but the Nurgle knew their time in the Fumbbl Cup was over and sure enough the pass was failed and out of the cup they sailed.
