Last regular Season game, the 'Sons have already made post-season but wanted the win for seeding.
Both teams had several Guards at their disposal, but the Sons had more team skills and the Strength advantage. First half (and some of the 2nd) was all bad dice and failed blocks and useless BG's for both sides, but the Railroaders might have failed a few more. Still, almost 50 blocks for each side without so much as a Knockout (by Block), the only Cas being self-inflicted T15.
The Railroaders chose to receive, and used their Wizard Turn 2 to try to blow a hole up the middle, but the fireball went 0/2 (and does not affect prone players). Boxed in, they could not maneuver their Guards where they needed them, and the Norse pushed the mass toward the sidelines. Turn 3 the surfs (and counter-surfs) began, and the 'Sons popped the ball loose but double-skulled (trying to avoid a Surf) before they positioned around it. The RR's recovered, and Turn 6 saw a chance to double-Dodge the MA 8 ballcarrier free beyond blitz range - but failed the 4+. it took 2 Turns and their last RR for the 'Sons to recover, but they screened for the T8 score, 1-0.
2nd half all players on both sides showed up (a total of 5 had been Surfed), and Turn 1 a ruck formed at midfield - away from the screened ball, which went to the LoS up one side. Turn 2 the RR's broke free and flooded to the ballcarrier, forcing the Norse to fall back and around to the far side over the next 2 Turns. But the Norse bash had awoken, and 4 players were out, including the Ag 4 and 2 of their Guard Blitzers (the last by the game's first Foul), and by Turn 5 the stall looked like a lock. Turn 5 the Norse committed a "defensive foul" to keep a remaining human Guard down, but the Huans did not have the manpower to contest the score. Turn 7 the Snow Troll tried to MNG himself on a Both-Down against the Ogre (Apo'd), then walked in for the Turn 8 score, 2-0, and the last kick didn't change anything (despite an appropriately retributory gangfoul from the Humans).”
