Thanks to Thunderhammer for being a great sport about what was a highly improbable beatdown. I don't think the 65% to 56% luck tells half the story. A better player couldn't have been found for my first game.

The plucky Halflings being what they are, they had to push themselves to their limits and beyond just to achieve the draw. The first half saw the Bellies receive, and after several drops and miscues, Yar Grassstain came out of nowhere to dodge between three of the Fellas, snatch the ball and score the first Berrytown TD in history.

The Humans came back strong, as the Halflings extraordinary luck could not remain constant. Two quick TDs ensued to end the half and leave the stunned little fellows down 2-1.

The 2nd half saw a devestating turnaround, as the Halflings clawed, scratched and bit their way back into the game. Led by their fearsome blocking Treeman duo, a steady body count mounted on the Human side, who didn't have the cash or the foresight to bring in an Apothecary. The bloody run culminated with the death of their Blitzer John Merryman, and the serious injury of John Sparrow, both players who had been major reasons for the first half lead. In all, 5 players met grisly fates in the match for the Humans.

Despite the overwhelming numbers advantage that was to develop, classic Halfling ineptitude would crop up when trying to handle the rock. After countless turns of stumbling and fumbling, Terrance Nuggetlover limped across the end zone in the nick of time to salvage a well earned draw. Coach Snailbarf wishes it could have been more definative, but will take the fortunate turn of events as a sign of good things to come for the plucky young team.
