“Kondor met Maverick at midfield and thanked him for the match. On paper, this should have been a very even game. On the field, the match was very evenly played. Only the scoreboard was one sided.

The game opened with a blitz by the roughnecks. Blitzes are difficult for many teams. For slow footed dwarfs they are a disaster. Soon the ball was in human hands and the score was 1-0.

On the next drive, the dwarfs pounded out a good beach head in preparation for a prolonged drive only to fail on to pick up the ball. Again the humans would find the ball and score before the half ended to go up 2-0.

The Roughnecks received the second half kickoff and forgot that the dwarf squad had the kick skill. Excellent dice rolls allowed a pick-up, hand-off to the thrower, then a pass to the catcher. The dwarfs made a valiant effort to stop the score but the speedy catcher was too quick and managed her third score of the match. 3-0.

But it was not all sun and fun for the Roughnecks. Throughout the match the heavily armored dwarfs pounded their middle-weight counterparts. The culmination of their brutality came near the end of the game when Anvilforge dropped the hammer on Shujimi breaking his neck and killing him instantly.

All in all a great bloodbowl game. Blood and points. What more could you want?
