“The Champions triumph over the unorthodox lineup of the Primarchs with solid defence, though a first half error almost spoiled things for us.
The Primarchs had two big guys and some unusual skills like dumpoff and two heads. 2 skinks blitzed their dumpoff carrier who fumbled the ball to give us a great start. We couldn't take the ball yet though as he deftly picked it up and passed up the field. Velocidad with help again took down a ball carrier and even caught the ball, before himself being smashed down too with the ball spinning back into Hector's hands. After more scrapping Santo managed to get it out back deep into enemy territory, after a Legionnaire was surprisingly injured by a journeyskink. It should have been a formality to score before half-time but the Ogre got close and meant Rio Grande had to blitz him out fo the way with help. But due to craziness (mis-click!) the saurus instead dodged and fell over! Santo was smashed down and we couldn't quite recover the ball.
Next half we were blitzed at kickoff. The mino tried to go straight through our line but couldn't make it. Santo went in to a cage and then ahead of the Pact side to get the first TD. We weren't having it all our way on the pitch though with Saurii not doing a lot and the Mino pounding at Diablo.
We then sent up 10 v 10. Theseus had the ball but wasn't quite protected enough to stop Saurii getting round to hit him, so Rio Grande did the job. A missed dump off pass left Santo the chance to get away for the killer 2nd TD.
For their final drive Theseus raced forward but Rio Grande again blitzed excellently, and even intercepted the dump off pass!
Santo scored twice today and is showing some great agility.
