#8 Cheif of Hunters – Dead (RIP)
#11 Trap Setter – Dead (RIP)
In the first match of the season is lizard men versus from Chimpan-A to Chimpan-Z! T.A.S.T.E will kickoff. First turn several gorillas knocked the Sauruses on the line to the ground, but the attempted foul was caught by the referee. The first chance they had lizardman turned back a few of the apes and saw skinks running for the backfield. In Chimpan-As then were able to put a hurt on Sstrikes Sswiftly, but the apothecary patched him up. Lizard turn 2 was spent mostly repositioning, the blitz been shown to be entirely ineffective. Turn 3 the Chimpan-As start sweeping around the north side, stunning the saurus who was up there to stop them.

Over the next few turns the Chimpan-As were able to move the ball down the field, but one of the gorillas was badly hurt (saved by the apothecary). As the Chimpan-As dithered around the goal line, trying to run out to half, they had the opportunity to badly hurt by foul the fastest think on the field, while the ref was being pelted by banana peels.

The srum at the goal line was amazing, with the apes swarming and pummeling the lizardmen. One skink, Weapon Keeper, was fouled and hurt too badly to return. A skink, Trap Setter, was killed and another saurus was knocked out. This left the lizardmen and with only 7 players to face all 11 Chimpan-As, who had little problem scoring. Just before the half ended the Kroxagor managed to kill one of the rookie line apes, one who was already limping.

To start the 2nd half Sshredder of Apes decided he was enjoying his nap and stayed off the pitch, setting up an 8 versus 10 uphill battle for the lizards to tie.

The 2nd half started with a skink almost fumbling the ball, but after the series of blocks one of the rookie line apes went out, sleeping off his injuries. Chimpan-As started swarming to the south side of the field where the ball was. Unable to resist pummeling a lizard that was down, an orangutan knocked another Saurus out but this foul was spotted despite the thrown banana peels!

After a turn or 2 of repositioning, one of the 2 remaining skinks swept back up to the north side and ran along the edge. One line ape had a chance to knock the skinks down, but was unable to do so and the skinks squirted from their grasp. Chief of Hunters escaped down the pitch and scored. The game tied, halfway through the 2nd half, the 2 sleeping saurus finally decided to wake back up and join the game - as did the rookie line ape that had been knocked out earlier. The Chimpan-As set up for a 10 versus 9 final push.

T.A.S.T.E Squad was charged with learning the ways of the ape and finding a way to exploit them, and the stalking began to pay off as the lizardmen could see that the kick would head for the south side and were able to confuse the apes and predict their starting set up. T.A.S.T.E Squad was able to rearrange into a perfect defense, although being outnumbered limited utility of this tactic. Chimpan-As responded well, knocking many lizardmen to the ground even when they did not have a good advantage to do so, but the lizards were able to force their way up close to the orangutan carrying the ball. The next few moments would be critical!

The result of the next scramble? Chief of Hunters was killed! That is 2 veterans skinks dead, and the T.A.S.T.E Squad – no matter what the outcome of this game, found itself sadly reduced. It was expected that after the game T.A.S.T.E Squad would hire 2 new skinks. Instead of getting to participate and brought along slowly as extra Squad members, the new skinks would have to be trained out in the pitch in future matches versus other groups of apes. In the game the violent trend continued, with Shredder of Apes being hurt again, and this time he was out for the day.

The Chimpan-As sprinted down the field, but - amazingly - Sstrong Sspear dodged away the and was able to blitz the Champan-A ball carrier, who wrestled Sstrong Sspear to the ground losing the ball. The apes had one last desperate pass attempt to score as the closing seconds ticked away. While the pass was accurate, it was nearly fumbled before being secured for the win.
