“Perfect D kept the Humans behind the LoS where the DElfs swarmed them, and Turn 2 a Blodgestepper kept enough busy that a new cage could not be formed. When a 3+ Dodge failed, the DElfs had 2d on the ballcarrier, and a lucky bounce put it outside the cage where 3 DElfs marked it. Turn 3 the Humans answered with 6(!) marks, but a chainpush, and after 6 "not a Catch rolls it took another great DElf bounce free and clear, and Dark city ran beyond reach to end Turn 3. The humans could not break free to pressure until Turn 5, when the DElfs snaked a handoff in the endzone and the ball was once again up for grabs, unmarked on the 2! Early Turn 6, a Human GFI used the RR, and the Sure Hands Passer failed another GFI before he could recover and move the ball clear. The DElfs could not see stalling any more, and GFI'd to take the score to end T6 while they could, 1-0.
For the Turn 7 drive, the Humams only sent 1 rookie Catcher downfield to within scoring range, and he was not only 3D'd and knocked down but MNG'd - score still to the DElfs.
By 2nd half the few KO's had woken up, 11 on 11, the Catcher out for the Humans and the DP out for the DElfs, and Glasst Knuckles won a RR - now having 6(!) for the half. The Delfs caged up short of midfield on one side, then over the next 3 turns swung to the other side to push across midfield (KO'ing 2 Linos, a rookie and a Guard Blocker), then Turn 4, after several Push blocks, fell back again to their own 10 behind a 2-man screen. The Humans GFI'd twice to mark the Blodge ballcarrier, using a RR, and then pushed their luck with a 3+ dodge GFI blitz - but failed the GFI. The Delfs found knockdowns on 4 blocks, pushing their cage up to within scoring range, and, after KO'ing another rookie Lino, walked in for the T6 score, 2-0.
Despite the 2 'Babes, of the 3 KO's only the 2 rookies woke up, leaving the Guard Blocker sleeping, but still 11 on the field. 3 players pushed across the LoS, but the Throw failed despite Pass, the Thrower and the ball alone and unguarded. Turn 7 the Delfs recovered but failed to form a secure screen. Turn 7 the Humans popped the ball on RR, recovered, dodged out again, and passed - but the DElfs rolled a 6 and won a prize, the Int. With no RR's left, they still had a chance for the score, but double skulls ended the turn before they could convert. Turn 8 the Humans found a Pow on the Blodger, but had no one in scoring range - game over.
