Diane, it's 11:59 PM on Tuesday, Mar 10th, and I've just returned from a trip to Pearl Lake. We got some reports that there was something causing a disturbance in the woods. That something was an angry tree spirit that goes by the name of Ulmus Alata. It seemed to be the focal point of a group of environmentalists that were planning some nefarious deed to the Twin Peaks power station. These were the fastest environmentalists I've ever seen, Diane. They got the jump on us 3 straight kick offs. Fortunately we were able recover each time but I felt like I was playing on my back foot most of the game. We only managed to stop two of their scores but that was enough. We turned one into a TD for us, which probably decided the investigation. Leo and Maddy resorted to some underhanded tactics, but since they aren't officially Bureau personnel (or even local law enforcement) I can claim plausible deniability. Um, don't mention that part to the Chief. Anyway, it was another fruitful investigation and the trail for Laura's killer is warm again.
This is Chet, room 316 at the Great Northern Hotel, ordering room service before some well-deserved shut eye.
Medical Report: Both injuries were only of the Badly Hurt variety, although I was tempted to call in Sam to help James Hurley. That punk didn't even play a single down. Naturally I exercised discretion with a full investigation in front of us. But it would nice to have both James' and Bobby's services for an entire half just once. I suppose a full game is too much to hope for.
Financial Report: I had to invoke Bureau privilege but we managed to reel in a nice reward for stopping those environmentalists. Increased our rep with the locals, too. Might look at replacing that thrower again.”
