This was a very tight game, though not quite as exciting as my game against Vault Tec Squad. Mainly because I don't think I played as well here as I did in that game. Rock'em Socke'em played a good match but ultimately the CAS decided it. The Tools' opening set of blocks were abysmal, but Pile-Driver came in for the Blitz and took out the Troll on our first POW of the game (something like the 10th block though). The orcs made it tough but we managed to get upfield and score on T6. A riot caused the orcs to lose a turn and they were forced to send a receiver downfield with no support. The Tools easily stopped him and both teams exchanged some hits. But by the end of the first half, the orcs had used their apothecary and were down 3 players. The second half the orcs fumbled the initial pick up but had the ball well surrounded so no danger of losing it. Both sides traded hits and the orcs moved up the field. We had to use our apothecary to keep Shovel in the game and it paid off in the end. The tools threatened the ball-carrier a few times but never got any good hits on him (maybe not any hits but just marking). The RemSem team was able to hold out until T7. The Tools had a long-shot at scoring in regulation but Raz blitzed Rake and he couldn't recover the ball for a pass downfield. We won the toss in OT and elected to receive. Then the Tools started hitting again with a stun and 2 KOs right away, followed by 2 more CAS before the end. The orcs forced us to switch directions but the numbers were starting to tell. I may have made a mistake running Shovel out by himself because I didn't think anyone could reach but Raz proved me wrong. He heroically dodged through multiple TZs and got a 2 die blitz on Shovel, but could only manage a push with 4 dice (reroll was exactly the same). I freed up some assists, had Shovel blitz Raz off (Shovel got a POW) and ran it in for the win.
As I said, I don't feel I played as well as I could have, but I kept my cool and took some calculated risks at the right time because I had rerolls and it paid off. Honestly, that's often when the Tools perform best. Time to see who we'll face in the final.
Thanks for a good game, well-played by you, and grats again on such a great run with Orcs in the box. Good luck in your future tournaments.”
