“MLS Season 22 Game #1

D. Cong United welcomed newcomers to the MLS, Milan Gladiators. This team played in the OBBA old world conferences a few seasons ago and made the trek across the waters to join the new world conferences. I predicted this would be one of the 4 teams to make the playoffs (Milan, not D. Cong) and they haven't done anything to prove me wrong. Apart from some problems with ballhandling by Oguchi Onyewu, they played a solid game. I was fortunate to get the answering score in the 2nd half but couldn't stall out long enough. D. Cong did play a spirited defense in the 1st half and had the ball briefly. But numbers and lack of skills were too much to overcome. My only real disappointment was the team apothecary. The wandering apothecary saved a MNG on Fabulous Fabián, but the team doctor couldn't do anything to save Simian Franklin. I'll have to travel to the jungles to round up a new Gorilla before facing Houston next week.

Update: the death of Simian Franklin and the Merc mark the first loss of any player for D. Cong United. What a way to make a splash in the past players pool!”
