“The Tooth Faeries are having a tough start to their Blood bowl careers and here was another oh so narrow defeat.
We had a TV advantage but facing a Skyre side with a Block, Break Tackling death roller of destruction and a block Mech, along with a bribe, was a tough proposition.
They hit us effectively all game long, with our little players knocked down all over the place. Straight off from the start a bomber nailed 2 of our Fenbeasts (3 were standing together). With a combination of stupidity, difficulty to get up and more bombing a large chunk of the defence had gone by with the Beasts penned to the LOS wailing. Eventually Nightbeast managed to get the Doomwheel down but it got put back up straightaway and with Guard assists stunned the Fenbeast. It was looking bad but Sheamus O'Devil brilliantly stripped the ball fromt he rat carrier and Sinister Sam got it. But the Break tackling Doomwheel got him down and then they had no trouble to score.
With the Wheel not being penalised for t8 and a bribe for half it was still there for the 2nd half, plus the crowd got the ref for another bribe! With a couple of side switches Mouthtwister got through for us for an equalizer but it was a struggle.
We then did a sweet long kick and reformed the defence. After a fumble their receiver got the ball. He then did a mighty HMP which sailed off the pitch. But a fan did a perfect little pass into their receiving bunch of slaves! Sheamus couldn't grab that ball and we just couldn't get other bodies to protect what with players being smashed about. There was another drop but in the dying seconds a slave took the ball over the line for their victory.
