Gasteiz chose to receive, and the game started violently, with Bonzo being knocked out early and refusing to come back until late in second half. Both teams continued to remove players, but the Necromantic clearly hit harder. Slightly bored from bashing the greenskins, the Necros scored relatively early, allowing Steve to score back for the half-time draw. Outnumbered, a perfect defense by Gasteiz did not make things easier for the goblins. As often, things got even worse, when Steve snaked a GFI to make it to safety. The ball was free to pickup, and Gasteiz did not let that chance go by.
In the next drive, it was again Steve, who failed a catch and allowed the Necros to gain possession of the ball. But this time he did not let Jimmy the wight get away with it. A blitz, a pickup, and one survived three die block later, Steve managed to equalize again.
It came down to the last drive, and Gasteiz looked like the clear winner. Rushing down the field, Mordisquitos, was only a few yards away from a winning touchdown. And only five CTGFM players were left on the pitch. What happened then, was later referred to by international media as the "Miracle of Vitoria". Groucho, without assistance, successfully tossed a goblin for an assist, the only other remaining goblin dodged through the lines to join, and finally Steve came hopping, taking out the wolf and picking up the ball that had been thrown in twice by the crowds. Surviving two more tackle blocks, he managed to rush down the whole field for the unexpected win.”
