Ye olde Red Wolves of New Jórvík lost the toss and were forced to receive. Ye brave EarthQuakers of San Jose played valiantly in the face of Red Wolf fury! The leaping warrior Khari Stephenson deftly stole the ball and his teammates got it downfield but a gfi did them in. Ye olde Red Wolves barely managed to get it back and prevent the defensive score. Second half the Red Wolves put pressure on the EarthQuakers and got them to throw yon pass along the sideline, resulting in a fortuitous fumble! Fate smiled on the Red Wolves and they recovered the ball, though they had to withstand a wave of line elves relentlessly hurling themselves at the ballcarrier. Possession changed so many times we lost count, but we finally cleared the pitch of ALL elves to win the ball back. A failed handoff nearly cost us the game, but ye apoplectic coach maintained his cool and withheld using the reroll for the T8 pickup instead.
By all rights, we should have lost this game or at best had a draw. But we've all had games that we rightfully should have won and didn't, so the Red Wolves will happily take a gift from the Fates and march on to our next opponent.
Thanks for the fun game, Bazakastine, and the Red Wolves salute your valor and sportsmanship.”
