#9 Zart – Dead (RIP)
Lutèce Cup Challenge - NA Round 3

The tale of two halves, with the Ratz coming out on top one the very last turn

1st half started with a Pitch invasion that got many WE's and few Rats. Coupled with Pinky killing Sam (their strip baller), this lead to a relatively easy score. I delayed one turn just so I could foul the tackler..and it almost cost me..but blitzing a catcher out of the ez and following up allowed me to score on turn 3. 2nd Kickoff we saw another Pitch Invasion, this time getting many more ratz than elves. This lead to a quick score by the elves. Finally, the next kickoff was relatively benign, and the ratz scored in 2 turns. Then the elves responded with a 2 turn score of their own. I ended the half with a messed up try at a OTS..oh well, I'm not good at them and it showed. So, into half 2-2.

2nd half was a mad scramble for the ball. I managed to bottle up the elves on the sideline, then a failed leap (trying to blitz a GR out of bounds), allowed me to blitz with Pinky and get 2 elves pushed out of bounds with one blitz. Then fouling the last leaper (with tackle) and KO'ing him left the elves undermanned...still dangerous, but undermaned. We bottled them up again in the middle of the pitch, after the tree rooted. But the tree got Pinky, when a frenzied block took him next to the tree. No matter, as there catcher failed the dodge (or gfi, I forget), and I got the ball. However, the other catcher intercepted my pass, and made a break for the EZ..failing the GFI. This time I left no elves standing to intercept and got the ball to Slash who raced down field. I sent some help to keep the elves off and stalled. On turn 7, I could have scored, but raced to the other side of the pitch, hoping to stay away from their Catcher I did a GFI, but failed...luckily not stunned. Their catcher made many dodges to and sprints to get to the ball, but something happened and he did not have the ball at the end..perhaps he failed to pick it up..oh, no, I remember now, He tried to pass it away, but fumbled it back into the EZ. His catcher has block. My GR next to him did not. I got assists, so it was a 2db to push him away, but with no RR's I was worried. The block did successfully push him away from the ball, and the 2+ pick up worked for the winning TD.

Very exciting and close game that could have easily gone either way.

Lets see. 5-0 1st game. 4-1 next game. 3-2 this one. Taking bets that next game I lose 2-3 :)
