The match could not have started out better, the 7 Ma, 5 Str vampire was left exposed and Minotaur Zun'watha opened up the hitting by knocking him out. The Chaos team proceeded to knock out several vampires and thralls along the way, while marching down for an easy score. Strong undermanned defence by the vampires forced an easy score and the return of several key KOs (babe-assisted).
A kick-off blitz from Chaos forced the vampires to make some marginally difficult rolls but put themselves in a good position to score before the half... The Chaos team managed to take down the vampire ball carrier while in scoring range, but the ball bounced in an unfortunate spot giving the vampire team a good chance to score and equalize before half; however, snake-eyes on the pick-up, followed by the Chaos team scooping up the ball and hiding for safety left the score 1-0 at the half.
By the second half, the vampires were all back on the pitch... Another Chaos blitz led to a more challenging half for the Vampires, who managed to march and eventually score to force OT.
In OT, the Chaos team received and proceeded to remove most of the Thrall's from the pitch (assisted by some bloodlusting vamps!)... With both teams out of RRs, the vampires were craving blood with only one thrall left on the pitch leading to turnovers/vampires leaving the pitch, which allowed for the Chaos team to slowly march down the pitch and score the game-winning TD.
The game was far closer than it should have been given the amount of luck nuffle allotted the Chaos team, was a well-played game by coach cdassak to keep it close, let alone likely win it if not for snake eyes on the potential equalizing TD before the half. Nevertheless, the But ter Fly Effect will happily celebrate their first tournament victory!”
