“Lutèce Cup Challenge - NA Round 6

I just don't know how to set up the push OTS try at all..even with a team that should be able to do it easily.

1st half, I score in 3 turns, despite only fielding 2 GR's. However, I'm (of course) not able to stop the return score. I have a chance at a push OTS..he only has 9 players on the pitch, I have all 11...and My Side Stepper is fielded. Well, not only did I set up and think of it wrong, but the 2nd hit resulted in a down Saurus (no other options)...

2nd half, the Lizards failed a gfi with there BC very exposed. I knocked him down, got the ball and screened it from everyone. 2 turns later I scored. However, again, I was not able to stop his return score, but was lucky (or unlucky) that he failed a gfi again and thus left the ball on the ground. When he did that, I knew it would be a tie or a win for me, as now they really didn't have time to score twice (it was pushing it as it was).. My attempted blitz failed because of WA, so I had to try a pickup/pass from a TZ on the sideline..failed the pick up and was pushed out...from there I couldn't stop the tying score. Without my Side Stepper (who I'd stupidly used on a foul and got him thrown out), and now I'm at 8 vs 11 players, the push OTS try was even worse ;)..but again, the 1st block knocked the Saurus down anyway.

3/1/2 in the tourney..exactly the same as my dwarves in the last NAF tourney.

Fezglitch did excellent this game, knocking 2 players down on two successive turns before I scored my 1st TD...better than in all the other 5 games combined! It was a bad choice as my inducement. Should have just taken a babe and another RR (or another linerat, or an apothecary)

5-0 1st game vs Ogres...ok, that was an expected win, though right now, if those same ogres win or tie, they will have a better record than I ended up with (currently at 2/2/1)-- so they weren't slouches.

4-1 2nd game vs High elves...I had a lot of luck and the HE's did not. Only team I played with a losing record right now..2/0/3

3-2 vs wood Elves close game that I managed to squeak out a win. Currently 4th at 3/1/1 and playing the norse I played in game 5 (also at 3/1/1)

1-2 vs Amazons I couldn't do anything right. Oh, this team will win the NA tourney...he's 5/0/0 and no other team has more then 3 wins.

1-2 vs Norse...again nothing went well. Both of these losses, my opponent was able to get 2 long drives that I couldn't do anything about.

2-2 vs liardmen. It was headed to another 1-2 loss until they failed the GFI with their ball carrier still exposed. Had some chances to win it, but the tie was much better than a 3rd 1-2 loss :) Lizard team finished at 2/2/2

12 TD's in 1st 3 games...4 in the last 3 :) I lost my scoring ways somewhere along the way :)

So, of the 6 opponents I played..one will win the NA tourney...only time will tell if they will be undefeated or not. 2 have 3/1/1 records and are playing each other next...so could be (with a tie) they both will have better records than I...and if one wins, the other will have the same record..but I'm pretty much at the bottom of the 7 point scale (too many casualties against..and too many TD's allowed despite scoring 16 times). The Ogre team could end up with a better record (with a win or a tie) and will at least be at 50%. The lizards ended up only a half game behind me...and the last team (high elves) could also have be at 50% with a win...

So, all in all, I'm happy with my performance against some tough opponents.
