GLT XI: Forlorn Races Qualifiers 4 Round 1:

A wild start to the Grotty Little Tournament Ranked Major for the Cult of The Scourge. After winning their qualifier in the Ulthuan Invitational, the cult was eager for some more major tournament action. The 5 legendary vampires presented a unique challenge and were coaches well. Several tough dice rolls at times for the vamps allowed us to take the win (e.g., 1 Ag zombie catching a bouncing ball and getting an INT!).

The Cult received at the start of the game and Hack Enslash went to work KOing several vampires. The cult managed to secure the ball deep in the vampire zone with few opposing players left on the pitch after a surfed side stepping vampire and some nice chainsaw action. This allowed the Cult multiple turns to gang foul the remaining vampires and guard-thrall, mostly causing mass KOs and scoring a turn 8 TD. The vampires almost were able to chain push the one turn score but the Kickoff even throw a row removed one of their thrall's whose block would have been necessary to push the final square, the fans also decided to hit one of the mummies with a rock sending him to the KO box as well.

Heading into the 2nd half, all vampires and mummies returned from their KO boxes, with both teams fielding 11 players. After a tough snake eyes leading to MNG to a vampire, the cult were able to knock down the ball carrier and recover the ball deep in their own end; however, the vampires were able to knock down the Ghoul ball-carrier knocking him off the pitch and allowing their 5 Ag vampire to get the easy scoop and score to tie it up.

Still with plenty of time left on the clock, the cult was now left with all its ghouls off the pitch and only two players with more than 2 AG (3 ag wight and 4 ag wight). After recovering the ball, the vampires were able to put intense pressure on the cult's cage. With some effective hypnotic gazing, they were able to sack the ball carrier but the ball bounced straight into the arms of 1 ag zombie Hujk. Hujk managed to hand the ball back off to one of the more suitable ball carriers, but again the vampires knocked him down. After rolling some tough dice, a vamp managed to dodge his way around, pick up the ball in 2 TZs and dodge his way out into another TZ... With his dodge skill and team RR used up he decided to attempt a punt deep; however, Hujk the 1 ag zombie decided to save the day again by intercepting the pass! The cult was able to push the ball upfield, Hujk eventually got sacked but Django managed to scoop it and eventually run off to safety and score the Turn 16 game winning TD, his second of the match.
