The Tauruses had to overcome bandaged giants, earthquakes, solar eclipses and a dozen other calamities in this epic game. But time and again, nuffle's favor shone upon them when they needed it most. Coach geggster did an excellent job from the start of positioning and pressuring us. A failed dodge by Kish left a hole in our cage but the TGs were unable to do more than push Hammurabul. Bulgamesh freed his companion up (with a stun if I recall correctly) and Hamm's extra speed got him out of harm's way for the score. The Tauruses tried to keep the Immolaters out of the endzone, but they were able to get two players within scoring range. Then -2d block by either Utu, Nanna or Enki not only knocked down a TG but BH it with regen failing. All we needed was the push to double mark a skeleton, and nuffle gave us the double POW and the CAS. I wish I could give the proper credit to this hero, but sadly the replay has been cursed and won't load completely. Perhaps when the eclipses and tornadoes have subsided we will be able to watch this epic moment again. Both coaches agreed this was the pivotal moment of the entire game. The second half the Tauruses were able to use their manpower advantage to pressure the Immolaters and force the turnover. It probably didn't help that the entire second half was played in a raging Blizzard, or that the TGs seemed determined to keep knocking themselves down (skull, skull/pow).
I can't help wondering if this was nuffle's punishment for him being part of the august body that gave us clawpomb, even if he did concede that it might be too strong of a combo. Or perhaps those feelings were what drew nuffle's ire? Either way, he was hard done by the dice, to borrow his phrase, and I can't help but agree. But he was a good sport about all the connection issues and took the dice better than I have taken similar games when I was on the receiving end. I look forward to playing him again if our paths should ever cross in a future tournament. Now the Tauruses get a chance at revenge and redemption vs. the coach who knocked us out of our first tournament (Royal Rookie Rumble) - cddassak and his goblins. Is this another sign from nuffle, or the trap of hubris before the fall?”
