“Up against the more experienced Lizardmen 'Lizzie McGuires' Varag ordered in some 'secret weapons' to even things up. With a second successive successful call of 'Eds' Varag chose to receive. All was going well as he grabbed the ball and ran into the pre-planned cage when BOOM! Varag himself was flattend by a bomb! The Lizardmen swarmed forward and a centre-field brawl ensued. Following some rookie missed blocks Eye Blitzer Trok Elfsplitter got his hands on the ball and sprinted off for the endzone. As the half drew to an end Varag (who had never properly recovered from being blown up!) was taken out by a particularly vicious Saurus named saiker, whist Trok scored to make it 1-0 to the Eye at Half time.
In the absence of their talismanic leader, vice captain Rip Sorepain led the Eye out for the second half to defend 10v11. But when Kroxigor katuka failed a block on Eye lineorc Burnstuntie Joy and was carted of the pitch on a giant stretcher the defence looked on (10v10). The battle between orc ad sauri on the line of scrimmage was intense but the killer blow came for the lizards when first half hero Trok Elfsplitter was decapitated by another deadly swipe from saiker! The skinks raced through the opening on their right flank and the equalizer looked inevitable. Dodging free of his marker Krug Painspear tried to almost single-handedly hold the line. What had looked like a desperate defence suddenly became on after yet another missed lizard block and Painspear bundled the skink ball carrier into the crowd. With the clock ticking down Eye blocker Rip Sorepain picked up the returned ball. Final score 1-0 to the Gouged Eye.
