#7 Grape of Nanking – Groin Strain (MNG) #8 Black Grape – Gouged Eye (MNG)
“Started off really strong, with a cheeky TD from a Blitz. Good play from my opponent tested my defence and some good dice rolls allowed a TD just before half-time.
But the second half told a different story. I couldn't seem to break AV7 and the faster Pro Elves were able to move and dodge better, making it difficult to control the game. Play became desperate as I started to lose team members to injuries. A bold and risky manoeuvre allowed me to get the ball away from my endzone and deep into the second half, but with no cover I couldn't maintain possession. It seemed like my luck was changing when a prone Grape of Nanking threw himself into 2 tackle-zones, picked up the ball and dodged out, going for it and leaving him just short of the end-zone. He was going to make it! But with no support from his team-mates stuck in their own half, he was quickly despatched by two Elves and sent straight to the casualty box.
A fun game, despite a very frustrating second half. The dice can be cruel, and this game they certainly took relish in that cruelty, giving The Grapes of Naggaroth their first loss.”
