“As many casualties as we provided (poor Dicky Knee, they didn't take to his fouling), the customers gave them all back. We really must perform better service. Anyway, Clive and Leif have discovered the joy of the two-push blitz, and hardly ever digging into the pitch for refreshments. Relatively short drives with all the scoring going on helped there. Must score fast in future. Must score at all, really.

Despite their Blitz first up, we managed an end-run the leaders, shuffled the ball through the tightening close, and Sore Bits ran off for a quick TD. Quick for us at least. On the return, they fluffed a pass to a secure runner and the ball found it's way back to Sore Bits again, hurled miles and miles down the pitch he stuck the landing and strolled in before time.

Second half, we Blitzed them right back! Surprise! Clive blitzed and blitzed again to get near their carrier, though the wide open spaces left them end-running us, poor placement from the wee ones. Exceptionally so really, Gunner ended up in the crowd. Another fluffed pass gave us some chance, but Post Trauma blew out and the boys stopped to cheer him off. Some last-dash heroics did nothing to stop the quick score. We were starting to look shaky.

They sacked our first ball carrier, but not the second! Post Trauma tripping the blitzing Minotaur on the way past, and then their Elf mercenary chasing another thrown ball carrier too! Well done that lad, quick on his feet. We did try for one more score after they played to the crowd a bit on the final kick, but this time the pass was short, Leif just not the thrower that Clive is.

Clive decides pushing people away is silly, and says he's only going to pull them closer now. Interesting. Mithing Deef enjoyed being thrown so much he's offered to take it up full time. It was a good landing too, though I may have to ask him to pick the ball up first and just throw it up to Sore Bits or Cracked Ribs or Post Trauma depending on who's left on field.”
