In the second period Altdorf first applied himself to defensive duties to sack Hammers blitzer Sir Bobby deep in the Reavers half. Meissen quickly scooped up the ball and ran the length of the pitch to give the Reavers an unassailable 2-0 lead.
Late in the second half all that remained was to see whether the Hammers could score a consolation touchdown or whether the Reavers could run rampant for a third. When the Hammers faltered on the line of scrimmage the Reavers sensed their opportunity and swarmed forward. Meissen sprinted to retrieve the loose ball but in his haste fumbled the pick up, however, he soon redeemed himself by fending off a blitz that looked certain to see him bundled into the crowd. With only seconds on the clock Aldorf, inspired by his magical headband, flicked up the ball and sent an inch perfect pass to Meissen who had assumed his preferred position in the endzone. With a hat-trick to his name Meissen led the Reavers off the pitch but it was the unsung work of Ritter von Baum, the Reavers hard working lineman, that caught the eye of the jury for the team's MVP award. Final score Reavers 3 - 0 Hammers.
Reavers captain and blitzer Griff Oberwald and talismanic giant blocker Zug both had quiet games - the latter needing the assistance of the team's apothecary after failing to defend a routine block. The Reavers legal team have been on overdrive with claims of pre-match drugging of the water bottles but either way expect more from this dangerous duo in their coming games.
