“Frustrating game but ended with a tie. I try one 1db and it's a skull. Elves try many and never rolls a skull--even knocked down my BC twice I think with 1db.. (and the one I did that was a skull was with my BC...oops)
1st half was the frustrating one. I really felt I should have scored, but 1db skulls and 2db skulls threw big wrenches into the plans. Fortunately for me, the elves did not fair much better--did a good job trying to pry the ball out (with 1db's working), but it refused to go out of bounds, instead staying close to my guys' TZ..that is the only reason that they didn't score in the 1st half...so 0-0 tie at the half.
2nd half a thrown rock gets one elf off the pitch, and they manage (again with a 1db) to get through my defense and score in 3 turns. Luckily, I was able to put together an real offense this time (helped that I was finally able to get some KO's and pushed out of bounds) and score myself for the tie. About turn 5 I realized that if I scored before turn 8, that they would have a great chance at scoring, as they have a OTS guy (who at this point was in the reserves having been pushed into the crowd, but not injured)...so I played for the tie game, instead of pushing ahead and hoping to get a break and score quickly a 2nd time.
