But the curse lingered and he was badly hurt in return, for their Ichor runner to pick it up and be stunned! Dank gathered it, was smashed, Auctus couldn't even get to it, the Inflamed runner couldn't pick it up despite his coach's cries, we left it be, Inflamed fell over himself trying for it, and finally it was back to Theokoles, whose designated blitzer couldn't dodge free.

What a mess, but Lydon took the handoff like a pro and scored just before the half, their half time show amusing no one. We were earning the most blocks, but only had the one off to show for it right from the start.

Their receive, we tried to cover the width but again over half their team was down a wing, and us out of reach. Auctus got keen and butted heads with their Fermenting runner, not smart, opened a lot of easy assists for them. Note for future, tie them up and take the hits!

So their Ichor runner was free and pushed for the line, but the curse was back, snakes on the pitch and a fractured skull. Varro grabbed it up, but Inflamed was back in action, dodging away from Gannicus before he could dive, stripping it, and scoring despite Varro's continuing efforts.

But our receive, and plenty of time. We opened them up down the centre and a quick pass was all that was needed for a great chance, but not to be, Theokoles fumbling it, Fermenting clearing it solo and away with the ball, only to be smashed by Gannicus, who was in turn taken down by Inflamed. That rat, in everything, caught the scatter too. Poor positioning saw him escape easily and score when things still looked promising. Ah well, lesson learned.

Our fans rioted for more time, and we got it. It's a shame no one told us, not hearing the ref's call over all the fuss, and we simply couldn't recover. Our luck should have seen us through, just one or two tiny mistakes against these top coaches and you pay with a quick loss.
