“Some Chaos team was bragging about how they'd never faced proper High Elves. That just wouldn't do, the Knights dusted off their old uniforms, and while a good few players weren't fit yet, we decided to show them what combat really means.
We set up on the north, and the ball fell to it, their blitz simply making a shift to the south so easy. Under pressure, outnumbered where it mattered, we scored to clear the melees. Could we hold these brutes? Peter the Great quite the hard target without a wrestling tackler, must fix that. They advanced, we walled them in and pushed them around a bit before gaining the ball, just too late to do anything with it other than play keepings off.
We chased them north next, but Aelruil was a step out of place and Ridual was off, their cage forming in the centre! A freebooter cost us a moment, they drove up through his vacated spot, and Aelikuth tripped on the key blitz. We pushed Peter near the line, but they cleared him and we were walled out on the wrong side by a wall of power. Lacking the usual guards, their wasn't much chance. We tried a big chain for the win, but hard when they take the blitz, and another loner failed us.
Regular training resumes, a full squad up next, this means war!”
“This was an amazing match. Tussock probably deserved the win here. I felt like I was outplayed all match. Those bruisers really hammered my poor little chaos squad. I only pulled off the draw because I finally put a guarding elf on the bench and punched a hole for the crew of chaos warriors to run through. Then stalled out a draw for a couple of turns.
The other important point in the match was my first half drive. Tussock's amazing defense had me stymied and I could not find a way through. Had the half gone one more turn I believe he would have scored and put the game away.
Still, most importantly, this match was the one that completed my Chaos grid. One step closer. I seriously appreciate Tussock's willingness to play this one. We will need a rematch some time.”
