“Well to say I was looking for a soft rebuild game I’m not sure the choice of a ‘warf team was the best; tackle spam really dents my dodging ability and massively reduces survivability of the runties. But I also find it so hard to ignore a game request, I’ve never played the U-dogs against ‘warves and its only the U-dogs, anyone say ‘expendable’?….

Highlights:
U-dogs open with a run along the sideline, which is cut off by TGLO forcing Ber’anx to double back and hand off to rookie thrower Fr’bloo. It starts to look like one of my team tied all the ‘warve’s bootlaces together as they are tripping all over the place, leaving an opening for Fr’bloo to run through and launch a pass across field to goblin Odd-een who runs in to the opposite corner and scores! 1 – 0 to the U-dogs! Second game in a row where the U-dogs score on their first drive, the boys are getting better (or just flukier).

In celebration of the unheard of success of the U-dogs scoring in consecutive games the fans invade the pitch and punch up some ‘warves for themselves… Distracted by the rampaging fans the TGLO’s runner fumbles his pick up in the back field allowing the U-dogs an opening to run through, but some good defensive blitzing by the TGLO allow the ball carrier to reach the safety of their cage. However, with time in the half ticking down will the notoriously slow ‘warfs make it to the endzone in time? The U-dogs do their best to throw players in the way but with only 7 players still on the field and so many opponents with tackle skill it proves impossible to mount any sort of defence and the TGLO trundle over in the final turn. Half time score is 1 – 1 with the U-dogs having suffered only 1 SI so far, it is an (im)moral victory to the U-dogs!

Second half kicks off with a second pitch invasion, again TGLO suffer the worst of the kicking with 3 players down. But the TGLO players quickly recover and exploit their superior numbers on the pitch to score a (relatively) quick TD, killing a gobbo in the process. 2 – 1 to TGLO.

No pitch invasion on this kickoff – the fans riot for a while instead. Things go badly for U-dogs from get go, failed pick up followed by a KO and a SI leaves the ball loose and the U-dogs out numbered almost 2-1. The U-dogs defend heroically, attempting a throw team mate manoeuvre just to get one player out of the tightening vice of ‘warf blockers. Inevitably, however, the TGLO secure the ball and score putting the game out of reach of the U-dogs at 3-1 with one turn remaining.

The U-dogs line up for the required TTM move, TGLO spread their defence deep and wide, there appears to be no opening until the U-dog fans invade the pitch for the third time in the match putting half of the TGLO players down. Unfortunately they hit one of the dwarves so hard it bounced back off the turf and took Gerald out as well… with the big guy down all hopes for a final conciliation TD fade. Game over.

It was another excellent and entertaining game, one where the crowd actually put more opponents down than the entire U-dog team combined. Two MNGs but one death (who also got the MVP), the U-dogs remain teetering on the brink of financial insolvency and dispansion.
