“The Wild Boys from the Highlands had a much better showing in their second game, beating out Vladymir's Blatyrs, a Vampire team, in a 2-0 shut out, through no fault of the Blatyr's coaching staff: Nuffle did NOT smile on the Vampires during this outing.
First, the Haggis' battle scars:
In turn 3 of the 1st half, Lineman #16, Greg Fisher, was nearly killed during an honest Block by the Thrall #8, Worth his weight in Blood. Fortunately the Haggis' Apothecary was able to restore some life to the Highlander, though the damage to Fisher's back will likely come back to haunt him later in the season.
Later on in the half, Thrall #12 "Sweet Morsel" blocked the Haggis' Lineman #12 Hilton McRae in turn 6, knocking the Highlander out for the rest of the game, though the Team Apothecary assures fans that McRae be back by the next game.
The Wild Haggis was able to score two touchdowns, one in each half. The first was scored by Lineman #15, Matt Healy, and the second by Berserker #4, Robbie Coletraine.
As for Injuries inflicted... the Blatyr Thrall #11, Illustrious Cravings, had his jaw broken by Ulfwerener #2, Angus McFadden, on Turn 6 of the first half; on that same turn, Vampire #2, Aluvlad Spatula, was nearly killed on a block by Lineman #14, Ford Kiernan, but the Apothecary patched the vampire up. Spatula's return to Undeath turned out to be a temporary reprieve, though, as the next turn McFadden followed that up by pushing Spatula into the crowd, where the Vampire was torn apart by the ravenous fans, his regeneration failing him and ending his Afterlife.
A strong showing by the Highland Wild Haggis; only time will tell if they can keep up this momentum in their next game.”
